Then he tried to get his boat docked in a different location than the one he originally aimed for, and proceeded to crash the stern of his boat into the port side rear of the SAME BOAT HE JUST HIT!! Wth I'm thinking. I looked the victim boat over later and it didn't look like it sustained much if any damage, which is surprising considering how hard he hit it. He was contacted by the other boats owner btw. I don't like to get involved but if he tried to drive off without exchanging info I'd have chased him down!
You should have got some pic's of his registration.... as boaters we have the responsibility of keeping water ways safe... you don't have to be the enforcer.. but you could have called the police.

Yeah I prolly should have. My phone was not immediately accessible. Heck, I sidled over to take a look and the dude nearly backed into me! I put the rudder hard over and punched the throttle momentarily to get out of range! I sure hope his boat was broken, otherwise he had no good excuse. Looked to me like he just didn't know what he was doing and wasn't looking where he was going. My day didn't end there. While loading the boat on the trailer I happened to see a wallet and phone on the ramp in three feet of water. Didn't see anybody who looked like the picture id. So I took it home and managed to find the guy by google. Waiting for him to respond now.

That looks like the ramp at Hillsdale! Used to frequent there when we lived in KC.

Main observation.........Don't launch your boat wearing wingtips.

After all that, the trailer jack wheel is still down on the trailer which seemed to be a contributing factor in the first place. That was funny stuff.
