Gotta love it when the Friday drink thread starts on Thursday! Just got done 5 minutes ago with a 2 hour conference call with Tucson, Santiago, Tokyo.....luckily I was at home, so I could sip a drink!!

Ashtray is how I describe it. But it makes for a good smoky martini: First, mix a regular martini (gin, not vodka; stirred, not shaken). While the martinii is mellowing in the ice, coat the inside of a martini glass with some Lagavulin by pouring a little into the glass and swirling it around. Dump the excess whisky from the glass (back into the bottle). Immediately strain the martini into the coated glass. Add your favorite garnish (lemon twist for me).

Learned that one at a bar in Edinburgh, Scotland. Yummm.

Home from work today after being gone for a couple days for work this week...kids in the pool all day, wifey working from home, start of our 12th Anniversary weekend...only bad thing...river is closed due to high water and debris...


Oh well, garage bar and patio bar will be open shortly
