Silver Glen, FL - May 28 '06

Hey y'all - we're taking a trip up the St. John's River to Silver Glen Springs off of Lake George on Sunday May 28th. It's Memorial Day weekend and it is always a good time. We usually get out on the water early for some riding or whatever beforehand.

We usually put in at the public ramp just up the street from the Blackwater Inn, in Astor. From there, the Glen is about a 30-45 minute ride up river (actually, it's down river since the St. John's flows North). We've already got more than a few boats going.

Just seein' if any of you TMC'ers are interested in meetin' up.

We would love to go. I am going to try and plan this with a few people. I wonder if Blairs Jungle Den has any room availability for that weekend?

Right on, skidog.

I believe at Blairs you have a 3 night minimum on Memorial and Labor day weekends and they usually fill up so I'd call 'em soon as possible.
Blair's Jungle Den is definitely the place to be.

We stayed at this little "fish camp" one time that had cabins for rent. They had boat slips in a no wake zone. I can't remember the name, but it's between the public ramp and Blackwater Inn. It definately was a last resort if you catch my drift, but when in Rome. I imagine if you called Blackwater they could help.

Keep me posted.

No doubt! They'll be a party goin' on - that's for sure.

I live right near the river in Sanford, so we may just drive up to Lake George from there (depending on the weather) rather than put in at Astor. I'm not sure where anyone is launching at this point.

Oh yeah, Liquid Sports river run! I've been on a couple poker runs and they were always fun. I may have to go to the Glen two weekends in a row! The Glen will be much crazier on Memorial Day weekend, but with all those MasterCraft owners invading I'm sure things could get interesting.

Let me know if anyone is planning on going this Sunday.

We're putting in at Ed Stone Park in DeLand at around 8 am.

St. John's River Run hosted by Orlando's MC Dealer Liquid Sports
Anyone know if this is going down again this year, or not?
