no standard answer for that, everybody different. Technique, nerve, luck are all factors. This is assuming you can get out of the hole and ride decently to start. Do you ride?

Like BLMeanie said everyone is different. I bought an original air chair last summer and learned to ride. BLMeanie was kind enough to invite me out and once I saw some flips I had to get there ASAP. By mid July this year after buying a modern foil I was able to do a few dismount flips then broke my foot (on a dirtbike). Pretty confident I would have gotten a real flip within a few more weeks if I hadn't had a season ender.

So, if you are in good shape start to flip can be within a season.

Probably only done a dozen or so goes and can get up on the foil but still need to be super focused to keep there. I'm not yet naturally balanced like the guys in the vid. They seem to be able to sit there and turn without much trouble. No doubt need more training time but just interested in usual amount of time required. Obviously it's different for different people. We're coming into our summer down here so I'll be putting more time in.
