The boat would put out a big clean wave, the pocket was small and didn't have much push when you got to the back of the wave. But we surfed with that boat for 3 years and had a lot of good times
I also have a 08' X80 we also bag it heavy and use a wake shaper device and it makes a huge wave, surfs great, also not as long as I would like unless you take the speed up to about 11.5 which would really lengthen the wave. With the twin 6 liters I could bag it and have 8+ people on the boat and you would not even notice the weight tons of power but as someone else pointed out you do use the fuel.. bagging it, swapping sides for the wake device is a pain but we have done it for 4 years and loved it fantastic boat...

I have an 08 x80 with the 6.0's. We have 1000lbs of lead, 3500lbs of ballast (bags and tanks) and a swell suction device. Surfs good but you have to seal the ski pylon hole and the rear engine hatch. When you really load it down you could sink it in a heartbeat.
