Probably. There's a lot of water fluctuation on that lake. That dock was built just higher than the highest we can remember it being. Last year, it got down so low that we couldn't even get the boat off the lift without diging out underneath the cradle.

We can get some pretty good winds from the east. So when it's being put up for the night (as it was when that picture was taken, we crank the lift way up so it doesn't have much room to swing. Keeps the rain (if any) of it that way, too.

Wow, that is scary! I used to hate seening my boston whaler lifted 10 feet up onto my dad's boat, let alone 15 feet with shallow water below! You are a man with big juevos, eastie!!

Now you know why we opted for the 6,000 lb lift. I had it on there last summer when I was down at the lake for a week. We had tornados come through (none hit us, but they were all over the area). There were 4--5 foot waves on the lake. I had run out there and cranked the lift up way hight to get the cables short.

This ended up being a scary storm. In the end, no harm was done. That dock is a monster. I helped my father-in-law build a good portion of it. I would expect it to stand up to 70 mph winds, no kidding. I wouldn't want my boat out on the lift in that though.

But when Rita came through Houston last summer, it was still a pretty good tropical storm when it plowed through Marshall (and over that lake property). Dock had zero damage.
