Yikes! I get two boat lifts and 10 ten-foot sections of dock installed each spring and it costs me $150.

Unfortunately in the great NW, the going rate for installation or removal of a fixed lift is $700 and that is under the table cash in a brown paper bag.

I've had it out both days that it has been on the lift. It is so easy to drive to the marina (8 miles from my home) and drop the boat in the water.

Are the bunks specially-built for your boat or are they standard, one-size-fits-all?

Also, in the pics, I see something black the ropes are wrapped around, between the lift and the slip (the ropes that secure the lift to the slip). Are they some kind of shock absorber for when rollers pass by?

Congrats and thanks!

The bunks on my lift as just the standard Sunstream bunks. They are fully adjustable front to back to match the bunks on your trailer as closely as possible.

The black things on the ropes are mooring line compensators. They do exactly what you thought. They take up the stress on the line and do not transfer the stress to the cleats on the boat or boat lift.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.
