The Prostar doesnt weigh that much more then a Tristar I dont think? I bought a TriStar last night. The dry weight is 2400, the trailers prolly 7-800 plus half a tank of gas. So I'm around 33-3500 there. I have a 2014 Wrangler Unlimted, stock gears. I had about 200KM to get home with the boat, and I can honestly say I hardly noticed the boat back there. I gave myself more time for braking, and used the engine as much as I could. Auto trans, but it gives me the option to switch manually which I did the whole way home. Fuel mileage wasn't much more than usual. I think you'd be really surprised.

The same Jeep Wrangler is rated for 5000 in Europe, so we must just have more of a safety factor.

Not trying to say a full size truck wouldn't be way better to pull your boat, but the Unlimited works just fine IMO.

Missed this, sorry man. We gave 30k for my girlfriends sport brand new. Hard top, manual windows locks but auto trans.

JKU project update

Well since last summer, we made some changes to the originally posted JKU. I enjoyed doing all the work myself. 2.5 inch lift, 20x9 -12 wheels 295/60 Terra graps, step bars, all new audio.halo headlights. Love how it rides and loves cruising the area and out to the lake in it. Thank you guys for your recommendation

As a fellow JKU owner with 35’s.... please don’t oil the tires. Lol.

It just yells “mall crawler”. Haha
