great job on the boat, it looks perfect! I've got the answer for all the S&S guys on the tunes, and mine will be done soon. I'll post the pics when done. I've got to wait for the weather to warm up so I can coat some plywood in fiberglass, but everything is cut and ready to go.

Most any type of metal polish should work, but try "Blue Magic" or "Tarnite" first and let us know how it works out. Both can be purchased at ACE Hardware and if they don't have it they can order it. You will have to polish it from time to time to keep the luster.

As part of my last job I had a SLA prototyping machine at my disposal. I had built a 3D computer model of the boat earlier and just had to simplify and scale it down. The stars and stripes are a sticker that I created everything else is painted plastic. The pictures don't show the underwater gear but, there is a rudder and prop made from .010 aluminum. Had have a friend who collects 1/64 scale models. He currently skies a Xstar of the same color and vintage as the 1/64 model from Ertl that was available a couple of years ago. The boat he had prior to that is the basis for the model here.

I used some stuff that comes in a can. It's like "wadding". The cotton applicator is soaked with the cleaning agent. Works like a champ!

Hmmm...I've been looking for things I can run on our RP system...maybe I need to draw up my boat in Solidworks

" Mothers " use to make an Alluminum/Metal wadding polish that you could tear off a small piece of he cloth and use as a sort of buffer to bring the shine back, it always worked for me but I'm not sure if they still make it!!!

Here's the stuff I use...I use it on the pylon, but I also use it on the SS exhaust tips of both my cars. I've also used it to polish up other metal items.
