Truck Input.

I am sure this has been discussed many times. So I apologize in advance. I am looking to buy a full size truck. I am picky in some aspects and in some I really could go either way. I do keep my cars/trucks for a long time. I looked at the Chevy/Ford/Ram/Tundra.

One thing I am particular on is I really like color matched bumpers.
So Ram Sport/ F150 Sport XLT /Tundra limited. I really like the Ram and have concerns on longevity. The new 8 speed tranny? Is that a valid concern? Opinions.

I tow a 197 so I know these are overkill by we really like the room the full size truck provides.

Thank you in advance!

Ford guy hat off...all three, plus Toyota, make a decent half ton.

Ford guy hat on...The Toys have bad mpg and are fugly, the Ram/Fiats have coil springs and mad recalls, Chevy's are for socialists, and they are also, fugly.

I predict this thread will go nowhere quickly.

What I can tell you, is that my last 3 F-150s have been wonderful trucks. And I have a list of friends who will say the same for their respective brands.

Buy what you like, with a towing package.

Tundra FTW!!
I love my 2008. Yes it's bad on gas but not that much worse than the rest. It drives like a car, super comfortable, will beat any truck off the line, tows great, and it's a Toyota. I'm at 120k and have just done oil changes and brakes.

You'll find people with different experiences with all brands. I had a bad one with ford, so I say chose based off drive feel, and what your personal preference is. I have no brand blinders, and my money goes to who makes the best trucks. And that's why I drive a '15 Chevy. Lol

It's everything I can do not to talk smack, lol. But I tried to start this off on a good note so I will refrain.

Don't get me started on toyotas haha. My ford threw codes and ran terrible at 55k miles. So it got kicked to the curb. And with the horror stories on the fords, absolutely wait until 2016 for the quirks to get ironed out

'07 Tundra CrewMax here, just turned 90k miles. As my first truck I had no brand loyalty, but Stepdad is Chevy all the way to his grave... I sat in them all, drove a few. Tundra's rear seat is twice as large as some of them, and at the time I think towed the most. Some cool other features (full size rear power window, etc), but the back seat was the biggest selling point for us with 70# Lab and young son. We've absolutely loved it. Tows the 210 easily, though I am curious how a bigger motor (diesel) would go, just cause bigger is better... I get 15.5mpg on 20 mile commute, 60% is interstate at 70mph. Longer trips empty I can push 18mph. Towing the boat here in the Northeast 200 miles (VT to NH) I got 12.5 at 65mph the whole way. If roominess is on your list, def give the Tundra a close look.
Just today I was looking hard at the 2015 Sierra 1500 Denali though, that thing is sweet (IMO).

Finally, some sanity brought to this discussion.
