Best Head unit upgrade?

I am looking to replace an old stereo on my 04 X30. Looking for something with blue tooth and satellite capabilities. What's the best thing out there right now? I may also like to add a remote on the transom.
Thanks!

Depends if you want zone control on your tower speakers or not.
Basic would be a clarion M303 or M608
More advanced controls I would look at the new JL or Wetsounds offerings. All have the option for a transom remote.

I had not considered a zone control for the tower speakers but that would be a nice option. Any particular model of jl or wet sounds?

Id actually consider zone volume for the in-boats. Most seem to want to torn down the in-boats, rather then turn down the towers.

JL has the Media Master and Wet Sounds offers the MC-1. The Wet Sounds has a larger screen and the display will nearly cover an existing single DIN 7"W opening. Or for a fresh install, only requires about a 2" hole for the cable and mounting studs. The JL requires a 3.25 x 4.7 rectangle cutout. This is because the JL is basically a compact type head unit and the Wet Sounds is a hide-away black box system thats 2 ohm x 4 stable in addition to its 4 zone RCA outputs. As noted, the MC-1 screen is larger, so fitment can be a concern for some applications/location.

The new Clarion M608 also offer 2 zone volume control.

Also need to check out Fusion. New Clarion M608 not withstanding, Fusion allows zone control through their wired remotes, Clarion does not.

I really liked the M303 I put in our X1. Very reliable vs some other single din Clarions.

For my Nautique, I totally skipped the idea of upgrading the head unit and just bought Fusion BT-100 bluetooth adapter that plugs into the RCA jacks and hard-wires to power source. It picks up my phone from as far as 40' away - love it.

I'm going with the Fusion MS-RA70 for my 2002 X-30.

I had a Pioneer HU in the boat for almost 10 years and it was great. When it finally crapped out, I replaced it with a Rockford Fosgate and it didn't even last 2 years. Now on to a Fusion. I figure MC puts them in their boats at the factory and no one has complained about them on this forum so I thought I would give it a try.

In addition to the differences already shared.

The MC-1 4 zones can be renamed. Deactivate unused zones. Has AUX output. 3 programmable shortcut keys. Can control RGB LEDs right through the MC-1 (with optional control interface). Adjustable line levels. The soon to release wired remote will have a display that will parrot many of the main screen functions. The media master cannot driver speakers as it has not internal amp, only pre-amp outputs. The MC-1 is 2 ohm stable internal amp, so it can drive up to 4 pair of 4 ohm speakers.

I don't what to highjack this thread but i have an 04 xstar with a clarion and also want to put a new bluetooth radio.

Will the other brands work with the clarion remotes? one at the helm and one on the transom?
