I've heard Rambo Marine was selling replacement springs. You might give them a try.

He should probably just junk the trailer and sink the boat, it is a '98 you know.....

I agree with east texas, Call Lex at Rambo, they seem to be able to help with any MC part (boat or trailer).

Just curious: why is he replacing the springs? I had a leaf spring break on my '94 tandem axle trailer. Strangely enough it was on the left side of the trailer, not the right (which apparently tends to run off the road more often). It still trailered o.k. so I was able to pull it home. I checked northerntools.com and a few other places for a replacement spring; what I really wanted was one of those monoleaf springs because it wouldn't rust between the leaves, but the length was all wrong. It's very important to maintain the same eye-to-eye length. I wound up ordering one from MC, and I ordered a can of their spray paint so I could paint it to match the others.

He might be trying to raise the trailer a bit.

Seems that each spring normally carries about 1/4 of the boat/trailer weight, but at times could carry 1/2 or more for very brief periods. A loaded PS190 and trailer probably weigh about 3500-4000 lbs., so a spring rated for 1000-1500 lbs. should be more than enough.
