85 with less than 350 hours.

All original behind the diamond plate sticker. Peal the sticker off and you have the factory plates with the orginal graphics.
350 on the new hour meter. How many on the old one, and how long after it broke til they put in the new one? This boat, while looking pretty clean, is clearly an hours unknown situation.

I saw this poor excuse for ProStar 190 on my way home today, on the lemon lot on Ft. Sill. It's a 1987 and the guy wants $6900. You can see from the pictures that it's been treated like it was his baby. Apparently this is somebody idea of perfection. It has some sort of rhino lining on the bottom. There is a rubber mat screwed to the teak which is about to fall apart. One of the skaggs on the bottom is bent over at a 90 angle. There is a ingenious access hatch that was cut into the front deck. The upholstery is in the same condition you would expect to find based on the rest of the boat. There are also holes in the keel that go all the way through the rhino lining the gelcoat and fiberglass.

Perhaps the Rhino Lining helps improve the wake, like dimples on a golf ball, or maybe it helped keep the water out…

MadcitySkier,

This is acutally my boat that i have for sale. I bought the boat with 212 hours on it with the old hour meter. I ran it til 294 hours then i changed out the gauges. I have kept the old meter for this reason as I thought people wouldnt believe me. so what i did was I hooked the new hour meter up to a battery and ran it to 294 hours and then installed in the boat. I can assure you that this is totally legit. Again like you said, the boat is really clean and i think that if it had more hours then stated, the boat would not look at good. Again this boat is all orginal.....interior and all.

For some more history if anyone wants any my old user name on site is OSUspenc99. Search for it and you will see post from me dating back to 04 on questions about the boat. For some reason my old user name was not working so I had to create a new one.

Really on an older boat condition is so much more important than hours.

Cool and great explanation! Some people just don't realize that hours on an engine or boat is important and it looks like you took the right approach to ensure a logical path. Good job!

I did the same thing with my old blazer. I change my speedometer over from a 5 digit to a 6 digit odometer. I checked out carfax and figured out how many 100k miles were on the truck and then had a speedo shop dial in the correct miles. I then took a picture of the two and finally swapped in the new 6 digit one. Documentation (and photos) are key!
