It's hard to tell in the picture if that pylon has one. It's shaped like it might, but it's all black, and I can't imagine anyone trying to paint the insert. I'm still guessing it's an '88 Platinum, or it's had a fair amount of custom work done. I'll be curious to find out as well.
Nice boat regardless.

FWIW... My '87 had the wear guard nylon insert as well.

Interesting . . . any others with an '87 or '88 care to chime in with which pylon yours has (or had)?

Apparently your '87 had a replacement pylon, because Mastercraft patented and introduced it with the '89's according to their brochures and History timeline printed in the Star Magazine and WaterSki magazine.

This is the response that I recieved today to my inquiry on that ad. I'm guessing that the ad was just old. Too bad, I was looking foward to seeing if that was indeed a Platinum Prostar like my old one.

Sorry, but the craigslist user address you recently mailed (sale-277900538@craigslist.org) does not seem to be valid. It could be you're trying to respond to a very old posting, or that the user has not requested anonymous email forwarding. Please check the address and try again.

That boat has been gone for 2 years but I still have some old pics laying around somewhere. How would I be able to tell for sure, either way?

Black 190 back

This doesn't seem right - looks like someone is relisting the black 190 that sold recently.

something just does not seem right. i really like the fact of "do not bid".

what is even more interesting is the fact that he has so many positive feedbacks.
