Harold, doesn't your boat have a pylon with the plastic insert in it to keep the roap from fraying? I thought all 89 's had that feature.

Yea, it's got the Wearguard Pylon and it's anodized finish, not black.

If I'm not mistaken, 1989 was the FIRST year the wearguard pylon came out.

I believe you are right. Like Harold's, my '89 has the white nylon insert, and I recall someone with an '88 saying theirs didn't.
It's hard to tell in the picture if that pylon has one. It's shaped like it might, but it's all black, and I can't imagine anyone trying to paint the insert. I'm still guessing it's an '88 Platinum, or it's had a fair amount of custom work done. I'll be curious to find out as well.
