That boat raises a question I've had:

Say you are looking for a used boat, and you find the ideal boat: condition, engine option, tranny option, color, everything is perfect, except the previous owner added an ugly tower like the above boat. How hard/expensive is it to remove the tower and get the deck and gel refinished to look factory new and unaltered?

That being said, the posted boat, depending on engine/tranny combo, would be a sweet boat, once you removed the tower.

It wouldn't be hard to remove the tower. Now covering and patching the holes could be hard. Since its a red boat and not the traditional white where the feet attach.. it would be hard to match since the red gel has aged. Now, you can have the whole patched and put stylish false grills or something over them or decal to help cover them up. The expense depends on the person and how hard it is to match the gel. It appears the the feet hit at a point where 2 colors are and thats costly to patch... I really like this boat... I would like to have my tower on it though

If you are working on a project boat, looking to replace some parts, or just looking to add a few cool new features, these parts are perfect.

Feel free to call me directly to get information on discounted pricing for our blemished parts. 847-719-0308.

Could you put a "blemished" section on the site?

Unfortunately, I cannot as I would be spending hours a day just getting those pieces up online. We have a good amount of people that call regularly asking if we have a certain part that is blemished, so I am getting rid of the parts on a constant basis.

If you have any parts that you are looking for or something that you need, just give me a call and I will let you know if we have that part mark as "blemished" and I can let you know the severity of the scratch/mark on the item.

Thanks,

Jim D.

From what I understand from a few people more versed in fixing gel coat than I, white is the hardest color to match.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

Hey! That does look just like my boat. It looks to be in good shape, too. But it's been VIOLATED by that tower. That just isn't right.

I've been thinking about having my trailer painted red (it's white right now). I thought it would look good, but looking at the pictures, I think I'll probably stay with white. Comments?
