Bennett Wake Tabs

Has anyone tried the Bennett Wake Tabs.
I have a '98 Maristar 200 V-Drive. I am looking to drop the front end at low speeds (18 - 20). for little kids skiing and ballet skiing. I'm wondering if this will work. Any help would be great. Thanks. BobL

BobL, I'm thinking the same.. I just don't know anyone who's tried and I sure am not going to be the first..

My worry would be how much pressure the plate would put on the stern considering it was not designed with the plate in mind. How do you re-enforce the attachment points? There was a post about a Malibu losing its rear end with the foil in the down position. You guys try it first...paper, rock, scisors?

I mounted a single tab from Insta Trim Boat Leveler Co. on my '95 Maristar 200 VRS to bring the bow down at lower speeds. Works great for me. I also use it to put the bow down a little in rough water to smooth out the ride. I don't have a picture, but it looks a lot like the TAPS plate on a Tige.

I interested in this as well, but the cost of a trim tab system has somewhat deterred me from experimenting. Does your system have the electronic piston to actuate the tab ($400 or so)? or is it the spring type. Also, where did you mount it and did you do anything special?

The Boat Pictures link on this site shows a simple one mounted on a 197.

Pack Fan, which Pack are you referring to? Regardless, welcome aboard!

The trim plate on that 197 appears to be homemade and can't be adjusted while moving (unless you're into teak surfing or a very fast swimmer).

Anyone have any experience with barefoot plates? Similar concept of keeping the nose down, but wasn’t sure if this would adversely affect wakeboarding operation.
