Poor boat has been sitting outside uncovered in Wisconsin for 6 years. Motor is junk, if you look down the cylinders you can see the rings on the pistons. Mufflers are full of mouse nests and corn. Anything that is edible by a mouse is eaten, anything that could rot has.

It blows my mind why anyone would let a boat sit that long uncovered.

What condition is the trailer in? Wiring intact? Certainly will need new tires. Brakes will need to be rebuilt.

If the floor is shot too, you will be under a thousand. That will be quite the project.

The floor actually feels good. The swim platform brackets are solid, lag bolts are dry. Steering cable is junk, rudder is sloppy. I'm sure everything in the gas tank is bad, fuel sender etc. The gauge cluster made a nice mouse house, it was packed solid. I wouldn't pull the trailer much more than about 10 miles. Trailer still has finger pincher contraption on it. To me its a good hull on an ok trailer. Transmission rebuildable. I have a motor. Wiring is bad, all circuit breakers would need to be replaced.
I am looking for a bare bones tug/pick up/safety boat.

I assume you are looking at purchasing this boat. If it were me, I would first make a list of all the expenses expected to get a handle on things. If you are capable of doing all the work yourself (except for maybe the upholstery), and don't plan on this as a money-making proposition, you could have a fine project boat. Glass stringers are the best feature you have here. I would think $500 - $800 would be reasonable. Travelling any distance will add a factor in this would be best transported on a trailer rather than pulled.
