2001 ProStar 195 question

We recently purchased a 2001 Prostar 195 with 37 hours on it. After purchasing the boat and searching for similar boats for sale, I can't seem to find any. I find alot of 205's but no 195's. Either the 195 is very popular and people tend to hold onto them, or there weren't many made and sold...does anyone know what's up with the 195's? Any history?

I believe the 195 is the open bow version of the 2001 Skier 19.

Check this link and compare the specs to the Skier 19 vs the Prostar 190.

I believe the Skier 19 and Prostar 195 used the same hull as the late 90's Prostar 190.

I'm sorry, i guess the different brands had me confused, i thought a 195 was a CC, but it's a 196. I think they should come up with real names for them like corvette and camaro and mustang and suburban. it'd be much less confusing.

Please post a photo of your boat. I think there is some confusion regarding the models around that timeframe because I think there was a year where the called what we now call a 197 a 195. Exact same boat, with the EVO hull. If you post a picture of yours I'll know for sure.

195 is a great boat. My cousin has a 195 (also sold as the x-5) not the lousy closed bow version that is out now, but it is the same legnth as the 190 but with an open bow. Has the same engine as my 2000 205. Do a search on google for pro star 195 and you can pull up all kinds of advertising materials for the 1999 and 2000 195. For the 2001 if I am not mistaken they only produced a small amount and then switched to the 197 and 209's (it was the same time when the 205 went from a direct drive to a v drive).

Anyway enjoy the boat, my cousin's has well over 300 hours on it and looks brand new. Oh yeah here's a picture of us at Lake Naciemento. His 195 is closest to the camera, than my 205 and our cousin's 190.
