JimN: The top ten companies sold 97% of the 11,100 boats = 10,767 units. Don't know how many they manufactured, but it's probably not that different. It sure doesn't leave a lot of boats for the other 30 or so ski boat manufacturers, does it? It doesn't say in the databook, but I suspect the sales data is for the continental USA only because another section talks about exports and imports..(in dollars only).

Interesting that they list both Skier's Choice brands separately - I wonder what spot they'd be in if sales of Moomba and Supra were combined

9. Matching trailer is cool
8. No 2-cycle oil in with the gas
7. Upholstery is quite comfortable (compared to other boats)
6. OK slalom wake (MariStar)
7. Great wakesurf wake
6. Great wakeboard wake
5. Fun to drive forward
4. Keeps your wallet from bulging in your jacket
3. Conversation starter with the neighbours "what the heck are you doing to it now??"
2. Gives me a reason to go to work

Gives you a feel for how small the big boys are even! Probably 50-75M in sales. If I read that right.

Neil- I was just surprised by the number being so low considering the fact that MC and Malibu combined make around 6000 boats. That leaves around 5000 boats made by 8 companies (or 7, with Supra and Moomba being separate).

Big boys for ski boats, maybe. Brunswick and Genmar are huge and even as big as Brunswick is, they went after the Japanese outboard manufacturers for product dumping. And won.

I was wondering where you found these numbers? Did you purchase the dealer survey?

Also, Bad fall here and in BC, only been to Ghost once since Aug and it is not looking good for this week!!
