Project Maristar 225 revive!

Getting started on bringing my first MC back to life. Shes had a tough life but With some TLC and maybe a bit of CPR hopefully she'll be back to full glory. I have confidence after lurking around here for a bit! So far I have only power washed to exterior grime off and gotten the stuck engine free with liberal amounts of Mystery oil and sweat! Bought it under the assumption of hydrolocked engine but I believe it may have been a frozen starter. New one on the way so we will see soon. Project will be slow moving until my old Dixie is sold but progress is progress! Posting pics as she is now.

Welcome! I have the same boat and went through the same process to get mine going again, I look forward to seeing your transformation If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Just out of curiosity, what part of the Southeast are you in? I see the NY registration numbers but I assume they are from the previous owner. I'm right outside of Richmond VA.

Whalenjf, I'm in NC near Raleigh. Been lurking a bit and am very encouraged by your restore. Also my brother Hammer's success with his restore. And Homer, yes thats bottom paint. 2 owners back put that on, The boat has seen salt but oh well.
1st thing is get her running. (go out and enjoy on the water)
Then work on buffing out the gelcoat.
Hope over the winter to get new interior and look into removing the bottom paint.

Hey!! You guys were supposed to hit me up on your way thru Long Island. I feel so neglected

Seriously, congrats! Looking forward to your resto, and don't forget, post lots of pics.

I read through Hammer's restoration yesterday and wow! That came out amazing so I know you guys will have no problem making that Maristar look like new again. I think interior is on the agenda for ours this winter as well. They are never ending projects haha.

Amazon came through and delivered me a starter! And after some serious battling to put new plugs in the ole girl sprang to life!! Wahoo! Didn't run long due to the alternator is frozen up. Will get one on the way and see if we can get a lake test. Pics to come if that works out!
