I am a life long football fan. It is kind of annoying how everyone acts like they're fans of the game, and know the game every four years. I suppose the added interest is a good thing, although it did take Merica starting a game on the last touch of the ball before anyone said boo about the World Cup on here, and it had been on for eleven days.

Pretty funny. I live down here in Auburn/Bama land and get to watch the behaviors of the fans. Some pretty serious band wagon jumpers in this state, for both teams. It wasn't that long ago that the Tide had an ugly drought. Like all teams, there is a resilient core of fans, but the exodus off, then back on has been interesting to watch.

We are always better on the attack. When we fall into defensive mode, we get into trouble.

Let's just hope the US is ready for Germany, or, at least, Portugal beats Ghana this Thursday.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

Nice try. I rarely miss a US Men's Team match, friendly, qualifier or WC. It's second only to college football for me.

True. There were only seconds left, tho. Game recognition, I would have blasted the ball Eastie, you would love a Timbers game. Gotta get up here for some Timbers and beer. Widmer makes a beer specifically for the Timbers, it's called Green and Gold! I am already wondering how the fans will react to Dempsey when we play the Sounders at home. I will applaud him but I doubt the rest of the stadium will. We shall see?

Bet I would. My buddy that owns the brewery in Dallas made a World Cup beer called "Thrilla in Brazilla." Had a growler of it when he was here a week ago. Nice IPA. Dempsey, being a son of East Texas, is very popular around here. Be nice.

You know I'm just poking fun.

I used to watch a lot of tennis back in the day. Back when Ncenroe and Conner gave some excitement to the game. Now it's like watching paint dry.

If you enjoy it, watch it. To hell with what others think.

That helped. This is the problem with soccer, it is unfriendly to the casual viewer. I guess if I didn't know American football I might feel the same about it as well.

Don't understand the whole clock thingy. Let the clock run...add time at the end...end in a tie. I'll stick with the football where they wear helmets.
