Jevon Kearse faces foreclosure on a 6,064-square foot oceanfront home in Pompano Beach, Fla., according to a report Wednesday in the South Florida Business Journal.

The Tennessee Titans drafted Kearse 16th overall in 1999 and that year he was named the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year and set the league record for sacks by a rookie. In March, 2004 he signed a free agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles for eight years and $66 million with a $16 million signing bonus and $4 million in roster bonuses. He played four seasons with the Eagles before he was released and re-signed with the Titans for two years and $6 million.

His career ended in 2009.

According to Wednesday’s report, he bought the home in question for $6.05 million in 2004 and signed a $5.25 million mortgage on it two years later.

Additionally, the IRS filed a tax lien for $432,015, based on his 2010 income, against Kearse last November.
