At the end of the day, a Win is a Win. A record is what gets a team to the playoffs. I'm happy

That would be great for the Seahawks...........if they weren't a wild card team. I don't foresee them playing at home any time soon.

They have to go to DC and face the Redskins now. Should be an interesting game, with 2 similar QBs. Good luck.

So did anyone see a Romo chokejob coming? LOL. Also I'd love to shake some sense into Garrett. You have a kicker who nuts everything he kicks and you won't let him kick a 51yd fg with 30 seconds left in the first half? That net of 20 yards was worth it. Glad the kids play hard for him but his play calling in key situations is questionable at best. You have 3+ min left and come out throwing every down while 3 of your best wr's are on the bench? Come on man! I might honestly put away ay cowboys love until Jerry Jones has a rose growing off his forehead if it wasn't for Dwayne Harris. What a beast!
Now that the cowboys have choked and ECU has choked I'll eagerly await the pats to choke so I can go into a 2 month pissiness. I personally vote that football season gets pushed back 2 months so it correlates directly to the start/end of riding time Last edited by 02ProstarSammyD; 12-31-2012 at 11:13 AM. |

Its gonna be a battle in DC for sure. Who would have guessed 2 starting, rookie QBs playing each other in the playoffs....What a season...Any given day any team can either shine or fade..

Never thought the Redskins would get this far at the beginning of the season. I've been a nervous fan for the last few weeks, waiting for them to get knocked out of contention. Now I'm just going to kick back and enjoy the show now that they're in, whether they win or lose.
Interesting trivia: The last time the Skins were in the playoffs was in Jan 2006, when they lost to the Seattle Seahawks. ![]()

Lovie Smith fired as Chicago Bears coach
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears have fired coach Lovie Smith after the team missed the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons. Smith was informed of the decision by general manager Phil Emery on Monday, a day after the Bears beat Detroit to finish 10-6 but still missed out on a playoff spot. "Of course, I think we're moving in the right direction," Smith told Chicago's WFLD-TV Sunday night. "A 10-6 season normally gets you in and we just didn't do enough." Smith led the Bears to a Super Bowl in 2006, but he also saw his team collapse in the second half of the past two seasons. Hired in 2004, Smith led the Bears to three division titles, two NFC title games and a Super Bowl appearance in his nine seasons. His record is 81-63. There was speculation Smith would be let go following the 2011 team's collapse, but he got one more year while general manager Jerry Angelo was fired. Ultimately, the struggles on offense did him in. Known for solid defenses, Smith emphasized taking the ball away from the opposition, and no team did it more than the Bears with 310 during his tenure. But on the other side, it was a different story. Smith went through four offensive coordinators in Terry Shea, Ron Turner, Mike Martz and Mike Tice. He never could find the right formula, even as the Bears acquired stars such as quarterback Jay Cutler and receiver Brandon Marshall over the years. Other NFL coaches fired before lunch Monday were: Norv Turner of the San Diego Chargers, along with general manager A.J. Smith. Andy Reid of the Philadelphia Eagles. Pat Shurmur of the Cleveland Browns, along with general manager Tom Heckert. Romeo Crennel of the Kansas City Chiefs. Chan Gailey of the Buffalo Bills. The Jets decided to keep their coach, Rex Ryan, but fired GM Mike Tannenbaum. Jacksonville also fired their GM, Gene Smith. http://www.twincities.com/vikings/ci...go-bears-coach
