Was it ever used in salt water? Do you have a trailer? If so, what make?

Pictures would help.....might be a nice project boat for somebody.

Or keep it, repower and use it more when the little tyke gets bigger.
Engine Hydrolocked early fall 2013. Two different mechanics couldn't get her to move.
It's a fuel injected indmar 350.

It was used in salt water its entire life. I only trailered it and flushed the engine daily. It has a mastercraft trailer.

I have included photos on the thread.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time or knowledge to repower myself and to have someone else do it I'm looking at somewhere between 7-12K to have it done for me and that's a hard sell to my wife.

Would you be interested? The boat is in Long Island.

Typo

If it's the 225 VRS they aren't exactly highly sought after boats other than the fact that they are indeed V-Drive. It's more comparable to a 21' boat due to the integrated swim platform.

Unless the interior, hull and trailer are absolutely pristine I personally would probably come in even lower than Roman. A new/rebuilt engine would be in the neighborhood of $2,500 plus a lot of DIY man hours. I don't work for free to break even vs. the normal retail price though. If I was going to take on a project like that I'd want to be handsomely compensated relative to relative to retail with a big cushion to cover all of the minor odds and ends that come into play on a project plus potentially major unknowns such a bad transmission.
I think you're right, sorry for the typo. I was hesitant about the built in platform but I actually like it. It's super durable and doesn't take much to maintain.

I'm weighing the options and coming up with similar obstacles. I work full time in NYC, have an infant at home and the boat lives at my dad's place in Long Island. The only option for me is to pay someone else to take care of it and I'm not sure the economics work.

That said, this may be a great purchase for someone who knows what they're doing and not scared of a project. I'm just not sure how much it would be worth to someone.

Painful

I am indeed in pain. I love wakeboarding and wakesurfing so much and this boat is breaking my heart.

After you said it was in salt water, I retract my statement. I assumed freshwater. I wouldn't really touch it.

There are going to be fasteners that wont come undone and will be rusted to all hell. There could also be and most likely will be electrical gremlins that will result from salt water life. These are not issues I would want to mess with.

Best of luck.

Dave, I sent you a PM (private message) twice, maybe you missed them. When you log on look in the upper right hand corner for private messages. i'm interested and would like to come look at the boat.

Electrical gremlins from salt water? Maybe if it sunk in salt.

I have no experience in this, just thinking a loud. I would assume though you would drip into the boat, and take water over the bow/sides from time to time. It happens. Also the air carries salt in it I know for a fact. Forget to plug the drain hole once....let the water get real high before noticing. All these are a possibility for sources of corrosion.
