i would be more afraid of a boat that old with really low hours vs. a boat that has been used on a regular basis. motors have lots of parts that are better off getting lubricated on a regular basis vs. sitting for years. i'd be more concerned with regular maintenance vs. the actual number of hours. both boats look clean, but i'd definitely give the nod to the one with the bigger motor. even if you paid asking price, 2K is definitely worth the upgrade. you probably don't need that big of motor on an X30, but if you plan to slam it or surf it heavily, it will come in very handy. plus, when it comes time for you to sell it, that big motor sets you apart from all the MCXs out there. don't get me wrong, the MCX has proven itself and will do well in that hull. for both those boats, for this time of year, the price doesn't seem too far off. i'd shoot for somewhere in the high 40's for the denver boat, but with the upgraded motor and options, low 50's for summer time isn't too bad.

Agree with jafo9. I would not be scared at all of a boat with over 150 hours, assuming you can have a good record of maintenance and the owner is straight forward with you. There is a 2006 MC X30 here in AL that is a beautiful boat. It has about twice the hours than you prefer, but it is in great shape and you can tell it has been well maintained. That black and white one is nice and has the upgraded engine, which is a plus, and he is willing to throw in a bunch of extras. It seems set up for whatever your needs may be.

Here is a good boat for your needs as well. The X-15, and this boat is in your neighborhood, in Boulder. The hours and price are right in line with what you are looking for.

I am curious why you have chosen the X-30? Have you considered other Mastercraft models? For example for 50K you can get into a 2009 / 2010 X2.

The room on the inside of an x30 versus an x2 is like night and day.

If I had 50k to play with and a big enough garage, I'd be looking at X15s or X30s, 06 and up on the 30.
As mentioned above low hrs does help with resale, but the difference in service life from 150 hrs to 300 or 400 hrs is negligible if the boat was well kept and maintained.
Looking at 7-8 yr old boats I'd take a 3-400 hr stored inside boat over a 150 hr stored on a lift or in the water most likely.
