Open up ??

Christmas Wish List: I want it all too...

1) HTML = "ON' in Sig lines

2) More than one (possibly 5) attachment features. This is why the pics go to file attachments with more than one pic.

3) Expand the picture attachment size to 800 x 800

4) Add on a Shoutbox (would prefer vB 3.5 or 3.51) for the shout

5) Expand the file types for attachments

6) IMG code = "ON" in sig line

7) vB Radio (add on from vB) which is nice to have selected radio stations streaming from their site through the vB radio. This works nicely.

8) Live Flashchat (add on from vB) Can do with or without but it is a fun feature for behind the forum chat room. Turn off the parsers and don't moderate.

9) More smileys in a post. Twenty-five is not an unreasonable limit (seriously).

10) More available smileys. I have seen some sites with over 400 available, and about 100 available at random. We need at least one with a smiling flipoff....

11) Lengthen the time for editing (before notification) to at least 5 minutes, or just turn that feature off... The one minute default is wearing me out...

Surely this is worth 6 cents (or 3 smileys) of consideration. Your server will support these changes. None of these gobble up band nor slow the forum at all. The Shoutbox can be cantankerous but it runs smoothly if installed correctly.

Thanks for the time and consideration.

Sporty

I'll even offer up to take the time of loading the smileys into the database, formatting them through your smiley manager in the Admin control panel, tweak the settings as such, and load the add-ons. There will be no charge ....

All I want for Christmas is functionality..
And a new wakeboard, a new foot line, a new slalom line, new gloves, a new vest, and that red 93 Stars that Jim has posted for a lot less bling.

Well without stepping on the Admin's toes here (because it is their board) these are functions that could be opened up with a little leeway for additional functionality and / or user friendliness on the forum.

Their settings here are perfectly fine (IMHO) as it's their dog in the race.

In any manner, it's all good my friend...

Things are indeed locked down a little tight here, but if I had 3700+ members, I'd probably tend to err on the side of bandwidth and transfer volume caution too.

However, I don't know how close they administer this site. I note, for example, that they are still using vBulletin 3.07, which has some serious security holes in it. We were all notified of that problem about 2 weeks ago, along with links to a pretty seamless upgrade to a more secure 3.0.10 as well as 3.5.1. My suspicion is that they don't watch this site very closely. If they aren't even going to patch security holes and do routine upgrades, I suspect that you may be looking at a couple of lumps of coal in your stocking...

Not criticizing, just observing...
