Monster Tower on 89 Prostar 190

I just bought a Monster Tower (the cheapest one-$799) and I was wondering if I need to strengthen the mounting areas on the boat to 3/8"?

IMO, no. My MT has been installed since 2003 on my 205 and I have had no issues. They provide rubber and stainless backing plates that help.

Just mount it in such a way that doesn't make the boat look stupid....

Here are some pics, original install and different angles.

Okay. Thanks for the advice. I will attach my tower in the same location.

Since you have and 89 PS 190, which is a different design than my 205, I would do a dry fit up first and make sure it looks right in similar locations. Then adjust accordingly.

Good Luck to you!
