Advice on low end audio

I've got a 91Prostar 190. Pretty sure it has the original, Kenwood, cassette deck and original speakers. I would like to replace the deck and speakers. Not terribly interested in adding a sub, or amps, or extra batteries. Would be nice to have some cutting edge features like an aux input.

So as boring as this may sound to the readers of this forum, do you happen to have any advice?

Grab the polk speakers that just popped up on here, and an basic clarion or kenwood marine deck.

I went with the new Kenwood - works fine, has USB and aux input and adaptable for sat radio and remote control if you want. Put some LED rings behind your speakers and you will be lookin' fly!

I put a Kenwood KMR-555U unit in my boat. It's got all the standard stuff- CD player, front aux port, detachable face, plugs for amps, you can add a remote later, etc. The thing that really hooked me was it has front and rear USB ports. I bought a 32 gig flash drive, dumped a bunch of music on it and plugged it in. Works great. Easy to change music, just plug it in to your computer and copy stuff on. There's also a smartphone app which I think allows you to control the unit and make playlists and so on, but I haven't tried it out.

The Polks are already gone (in record time!), but my basic setup is:

Clarion M303 Deck: Aux in, MP3, Bluetooth, etc. - $130ish
Polk DB651 speakers: Full-dome adjustable tweeters, 180W max - $68/pair x2 = $134
Clarion Remote, USB adapter - Not necessary but nice - $110 + $25 = $135

So you're all in for around $400.
