Yes. It is still there. There is only one dealer in Southern California.

Looks like there has been a few situations where bypass spring broke causing very low oil pressure ( near zero). Your pressure seems higher so could be something holding the seat off. Unfortunately you have to remove pan and timing cover to access it to check or repair if a pump bypass valve issue.

Thanks. I'm taking it to another shop. I'll give an update when I know more.

I am really curious as I know you are - with only 350 hours on the clock...

Engine is horked. Lots of rust. New shop says it isn't even worth re-building, so I'm looking at a new engine.

The guy I bought it from kept it in the harbor for at least part of the time he owned it--I guess there are limits to what a "Saltwater Series" will take...

Pretty depressing. I paid more to get the Saltwater Series because I want to be able to use the boat in saltwater without killing the engine, yet I'm replacing the engine due to saltwater damage.

Engine internals don't get rusty without some sort of problem. Perhaps it overheated and took saltwater into the engine at some point while the previous owner had it and didn't get it flushed out with a couple oil changes with a little running time in between.

Doesn't the LY6 come standard with a closed cooling system/ anti freeze in engine? Something doesn't sound right.

I believe you are right. Something is definitely not right to get rust in the engine. Bad exhaust manifold possibly.
