Id want the 230 outside with the interior of the x30. Theyre both sick boats and you couldn't go wrong with either.

Historically, Mastercraft engineering and component quality has exceeded that of Correct Craft (by historically I mean the past 10-15 years). 2012 delivered a hit to MC's reputation in this regard, particularly due to the Medallion issues and some Ilmor growing pains. That said, 2013 reliability has looked good, and the product is definitely performing well. I would suggest anticipating that either brand will cause you problems somewhere along the way, and thus consider your dealer to be an essential factor in the decision. Any individual would prefer to drive before buying, but this may not be feasible in your situation, so why go there, I say. If you were looking at a Moomba or Centurion there clearly would not be a valid comparison, but either boat will come in with a good track record, and good resale. A good case can be made for either. That said, I believe in the Mastercraft brand, and the people responsible for running the company.

I faced the exact same "problem" as you have. Was looking at the 230 and the X30. My difference came down to $$$, I told myself if the 230 comes in 10K cheaper, I'm gonna being running a Nautique. Well, when the prices came in and the 230 was gonna be 10-14K higher (through the local dealer) that was it. Tell you the truth I'm glad they came in high. For us it really comes down to quality and looks. The wake is the wake is the wake. We're not pros, and if you blindfolded us we couldn't tell the difference if we were behind a MC, CC, BU, MB, Tige, and so on. Now put us inside the boat, we'd have a pretty good idea between the " Big 3" at least, MC all the way. Especially in a used one.

Didn't drive the 210/230 but the G boats drive awfully. If you ever let your wife drive someone will definitely die

There's reason enough.

It actually handles really well with the NCRS plate. Better than the Xstar/X35 for sure.

they are good aren't they ... and genuinely awesome people

The X35 I will give you, and maybe even an X25. However, A G handles nothing like a new XStar..... Not even close.

This can't be true. The G is the sloppiest handling boat I've ever driven. My 6 year old 45 handled much better than the G. Fantastic wake, lots going for it, no doubt about that. But to say anything positive about its handling shows a huge bias, or lack of tine at the wheel of other boats. Our pumper trucks at at the fire hall handle better than the G.

I had the same dilemma. Coming from a Nautique 216V I really wanted to stay with Nautique. I was behind a '13 X30 last summer and had a pretty good surf wake. It also had a really good ski wake as I still ski and one of my boys skis so that was important. I then demo'd the '14 230 and was not overly impressed with the surf wake as it seemed to lack push. But it was Fall in Alberta and I took a couple of quick runs. My son skied and the wake was comparable to my 216V but not as nice as the 30. I really like Nautique's but went with the X30 for the interior, storage and wake. Oh Yea and my wife said I could order whatever options if it was the X30 and you know what they say about happy wife!
