Smile Buying advice on 2012 x-25 good choice?

Hi, Does anyone have any reasons why they would not purchase a 2012 x-25? the boat I am looking at is very well equipped. Power tower, surf tabs,6.0 Ilmor, under water light, low hours etc... The boat has Medallion guages. Are the guages OK? Mastercraft is boasting about changing these to Murphy in the new boats, is there a big difference? Should I wait for a year and try to pick up a used 2013 due to the guages? Also, are the new surf tabs worth waiting for. Can I change the old surf tabs to the new system(gen2) in the future? Does the X-25 have a problem planing
with the old medallion system, I am told the new system helps by deploying the trim tab at start to bring the boat onto a plane? Does this boat handle well with the 6.0 liter? Or should I be looking at a new x-10. I like the pickle fork for the room. Any other thoughts on why people like the x-25 over the new x-10 or 30 would be nice to here.If you have an x 25 I would like to here what you like about it. Thanks

Would probably do a new x-10 if the prices are comparable. You most likely wont be able to get the new surf tabs, just depends on the dealer.

The gauges are worrysome, maybe a few 2012 owners will chime in.

Power tower is a nice feature, but the zft4 is so easy to fold down its not necessary.

The x25 doesnt have any problems plaining with any systems. Handling shouldnt have much to do with the motor, but if it has pro package it will have the tracking fins wich will help handling.

I do like the X-10 but the prices with the power tower and all the options on this boat are pushing me towards the X-25. This boat is around 80,000 with under 60 hrs. New x-10 is around 102,000.00
without a power tower and less options? The x-10 has 5.7 litre engine ft4 etc.. more basic. Are the pre-sets for the new murphy gauges a big improvement on setting up a surf wave compared to the medallion system? Seems like the x-25 feels a little more luxurious? Please chime in, I would love more thoughts to help make my decision.

I dunno who is quoting you that high of a price. a new x30 with the 6.0 and the new surf tabs was 108 at the boat show. a fully loaded x10 should be in the 80s.

I am in Canada, I guess with the exchange and the dealers wanting to keep prices higher those are the numbers.102, with fairly nice list of options.

There were some software issues in '12 which can be updated. That year will always have a bit of a stigma.

The 2012 boats get a bad rap but once you get the software update on the medallion system the boat operates just fine and the software never gives me issues. I do have the auto launch function on my system which helps planing with a heavy load so much easier. It deploys all three tabs until the perfect pass is set and then it retracts. I did add an extra stereo remote close to the driver seat which helps a lot as this was added in the 2013. I have the power tower on my x45 and I think the power tower is the best looking tower in the MC lineup and I have had no problems with it even before the upgrade to hydraulic shocks. It makes the boats look 100 times better than the standard zft4 tower. If the boat has the newest software on the medallion screen don't let it scare you it will function properly. I have 175 hrs on my 2012 and the software has never kept me off the water even before the updates

Is it a free upgrade to update the Medallion software? Have you drove the x-10 or x-30 any thoughts on whether one is a better boat for 80% surf 20% Wakeboard? Also, does anyone feel that the x-25 rides a bit bow high while surfing?

x-30 is gonna surf better. x25 will most likely wakeboard better, but 501's ( an x30 owning member) photos of his wake are pretty dang impressive.
