There is no question that for maximum SPL and projection, a horn based tower speaker is going to rule.
And in the HLCD arena, Wetsounds is definitely king.
Here is a system that is on the Earmark Lewisville floor year around that demonstrates the Wetsounds Rev410.

I was EXTREMELY close to going with the Rev10's...totally agree they are much louder. For me it came down to the musical clarity that JL's give you. I get more out of that hanging and cruising in the boat, then when I'm 70' behind my boat doing 23mph trying my best not to kill myself. Budget was not a factor, that is why I'm curious about the 8" JL's coming out and if they will be a big enough difference to pull the trigger on an upgrade to a brand new in the wrapper boat.

I gotta say the mc cans look a hundred times better than the wetsounds ones. But the rev 10s sound so good!

I love the "problems" we have on these forums...deciding between awesome and most awesomest over the top stereo speakers for boats the rest of the world would call ridiculous...

But only the billet aluminium ones... The new cheaper JL plastic ones don't look too impressive...

Agreed... I wish that the Wetsounds speakers didnt have the German military cross geometry for the grill, especially with the fake chrome plate on it. just looks bad.

I was considering the all white Rev 10's, because the grill geometry is less "Tapout style" without chrome on black - but still doesn't look as classy as OEM MC cans

Just a thought - MC could offer a Wetsounds speaker in an OEM aluminum can as an option, I think another boat manufactuer has Wetsounds as OEM supplier...easy to look better than below

That is hideous. And agreed that German Cross thing gets me turned sideways looking at it every time. They are loud. But some people want that clarity. When I am just sitting in my boat and paying attention, I can hear sidetalk in recordings, noises I never knew where there before, and at surf speeds I'm happy as can be. For me clarity/durability won over vs how loud at 70' /cheaper $$ the wetsounds were.

I will be waiting for the 8's and the new 12 sub. And I will be ready when they do.

I want more info on the JL 8.8's. I was thinking of changing out my inboat 7.7 with them. Are they infinite baffle? It would be nice to know mounting diameter and depth as well as wrms to drive them at. (175wrms x 1.25% = 218wrms)
Anyone do any corporate espionage?
