Thumbs up Getting a newbie up on the first pull.

I am sure that a lot of you know this method but I'll bet more than half do not.

Well done. Will try that method out at the next Wake the World event.

Is there a similar video on how to get kids up on skis?

Thanks for posting. I use a similar idea for helping people get up on skis or slalom. I have them suck their knees up and hold their elbows against their knees, just let the boat pull them out of the water. Don't stand up. Wait for it. Ride for a bit in a deep crouch. That way they don't lean back or forward and lose their balance. Stand up only when your comfortable. I still use that technique to get up on slalom because I feel it takes less energy/gets out of the water quicker.

+1 on that. Also, really try to keep the ski facing one direction (either left or right). IOW, before the pull, lock onto the direction you plan to go and concentrate on keeping the ski pointed that way once you start to move. Then follow what TresRiver205 says!

Good pointers....I have a couple coming to the trying point. They seem to be lacking confidence though. Get over that, and I think they will be able to get up. As of now they feel great on one of those old style surf boards where the rope is attached to the board and they hang on to a handle that is attached to the board also.

My brother in law was as eager about finally getting up as he was problematic, using a long surfrope did it...
