Adding another bilge pump to an old Xstar (X2/X1)

Is it just me or is the standard location of the single bilge pump on the old Xstars a bit daft? My bilge pump is directly below the inspection hatch in the boat. Now, when the boat sits in the water, even without ballast any bilge water puddles further back - under the transmission and engine. My boat suffered from drawing water in through the transition output seal - no leaks so I've put this down to it being submerged whilst underway. I'm going to add a second pump , will place this behind the engine, wondering if anybody else has done likewise?

Our 2001 205v has a pump in back by the rudder shaft. No drain plug or bilge pump (or round hatch) in the center floor. Pita as have to put it on a very steep street to get water all the way out

My 2003 x-2 only had the one pump in the back. I found that water always seemed to gather in the center around the drain plug, so I added another bilge pump near the center drain plug a couple of years ago. I took one of the vent lines off the kgb sac and repurposed it for the bilge line.

I think most years included both pumps. I've heard of people having the rear pump and not the front one, but I've never heard of anyone just having the front pump.

JRW160, did you glue or screw the new pump to the bilge?

I used glue. I'm pretty sure I just used marine epoxy from lowes. It's been in there two or three years now with no problems.
