Definitely some cold numbers the past couple days.

One thing to keep in mind, just like when temps approach freezing and people start to freak out about block freezing - it takes time for the entire block to reach those temps.
Remember general rule is 24 degrees for 24 hours to freeze a block with water.

That being said, I do predict frozen block stories will be high next spring.
Half a$$ winterizations where they didn't drain the block before adding anti-freeze or didn't run enough AF though to get a high concentration will freeze at a much higher temp than printed on the bottle. They slipped by in warm to average years but..........

All the more reason I preach: Drain, fill, drain.
Whatever mixture is left will have close to the same corrosion protection properties in the space as if it was filled with AF.

Try living up here in Canada, although -16 is cold (-22C), temps here go as low as -40C (-50 with wind chill), never had a problem, like Bsloop mentioned, it takes a while for the material deep within the hull to drop to those temps.

Who has ski safe insurance? They have freeze protection. That was one of my deciding factors.

Sullivan & Strauss Agency from Lake Success NY. They operate SkiSafe.com or Sea-Safe. They are underwritten by AXIS Reinsurance.

Same as us. The extremes are way hard to deal with.
