Heliport on your boathouse?

These folks are right around the corner from us on Lake Gaston, NC. However I get to the lake in a beat-up Suburban! I forgot I grabbed this picture over the summer - just ran across it and thought I'd post it up for some winter time fun (although I 'almost' skied yesterday, it was 82). They commute from the Raleigh area, physicians of some sort...not a bad set up if you ask me. There is an inboard in the picture too

I saw a helicopter land on a boathouse at Claytor Lake, VA. Their boathouse probably cost as much as my house.

can you imagine the preflight... Honey - everything packed up in the chopper? It was a little tough this time honey... the new slalom ski was hard to fit in...

smart idea - good doctors spend soo much time at work...

Not much will fit in those little Robinson's. I have flown the little 22's a bunch and its pretty tight, fun though.

This thread reminded me of a picture in the Tow Rigs thread of a set up that Jimmies1 had where the boat was the heliport:

Here is the matching tow rig:

I'll admit, it took me a couple seconds of "dubya tee eff" to realize that the chopper was hovering adjacent to the boat, not sitting on the boat with the tail rotor a few feet away from the girls on the back seat.

We've at least one family on the hot side at Lake Anna with a sea plane hanger but the chopper is definitely kicking it up a notch!

We were spending the weekend out at some family friends riverhouse one Labor weekend. My buddy and I were just out of college and our family friends' daughter had a few of her sorority girls at the house for the weekend. It was an all around score for my buddy and I. Great weekend! Well, it turned out the girls had to get to the airport to fly back to school, but did not want to leave or drive home. So one of the girls called her dad and he sent the helicopter out. I have a picture on my computer at home of 3 girls running out to the helicopter on the lawn of our family friends' house in bikinis with their bags in hand. It was no little R22, either. It was a Jet Ranger.
