My Touareg TDI gets 13-14 for that same tow Cincy to Norris, 29 all around not towing, but I am not shy with it, 80 downhill and 70 up. I run her in manual, 8th on the downhills, 7th gear on the ups, occasionally have to drop her to 6th if I get stuck and have to pass on the uphills. RPM range is 1800 to 2800. Loving the TDI!

I would say for a gasser, this is about right, my Ram 1500 would get about 9 for the same tow, and you would really have to do 85 downhill and be lucky for 65 uphill without blowing out the RPM's.

I got 15 mpg towing my 197 w/ mini tower and only around 10 - 11 mpg towing my X14. I was really surprised at the difference. Both with my 05 Avalanche 1500.

That's classified... but I can tell you I have a heavy foot and utilize the Valentine 1 in the truck. The boat and truck were loaded up too... eight day family vacation.

I have two vehicles that I can use. My boat is similar in weight to a prostar 190
2003 Yukon with 5.3 (stock)get 16mpg empty and around 13-14 towing.
2007 FJ cruiser (lifted with bigger tires) gets around 14 empty and under 9 towing. I don't even want to know exactly as it suck the fuel bad. It has a very small tank also so you never let a gas station pass. I think it does so well because of its highly efficient aerodynamics. I call it the flying brick.

I get about 14-15 pulling at 75-80 and 15-16 pulling 65-70. Back in May I pulled my 197 loaded to Louisianna doing about 85-90 most of the way and got 14.... I'm pulling with a tuned duramax GMC... Unloaded it gets about 20-23 depending on conditions.

I did pull a Xstar and got the same reading at 65-70. I didn't speed with it since it wasn't mine.
