x30 vs. x46

I know i have asked this about many different boats, but we have officially decided it's between the x30 and x46. It's down to the small things that we can benefit from each boat, like how the x30 is cheaper, but the x46 has more seating. Also was curious if the x30 could still handle tough water like the x46?

Thanks in advance

Also wanting to see some of the designs you guys have. If you have a chance make a design and post it. Can be either x30 or x46.

...you are pretty much looking at same options we just face...
...if I remember correctly you Boat in Same waters as us...
X30 will handle your occasional chop just fine...and be more than adequate on your home turf..Parker River...
You may be happier with the X30 at Parker too..being smaller...

Not sure if I would use the term "cheaper" when coffing up $85k + for a new-er MasterCraft..

If your sitting on the Cash to burn the 46 looks awesome...not many "deals" to be had on them

Ya we are usually in Parker and Havasu and are considering Mead. And when i say cheaper i mean like 105k vs 140k. We are also more worried about the chop at Havasu and the luxury of a pickle fork bow.

After 2 seasons with the X-15, wanting a more surf-oriented boat, we had the same decision to be made. We just finally decided in favor of the X-46, because a twin bow / bow ladder became mandatory for our use and we really liked all the seating possibilities in the X-46. Size wise a 30 would have been more than enough for us.

Btw the net difference of both models is 'just' roughly $14k

Exactly..... the 46 is significantly more expensive than the X30. I can't even imagine how they justify the price gap when you consider the differences between the 2.

A lot different price gap than I got, when I priced them up....

When I was thinking about selling the XStar, and buying a 14 Star, I priced the X30 and X46 along with a new XStar. With all options being the same, the X46 and XStar were the same price, and the X30 was 32k cheaper....

Edit- And for what it is worth, the X25 was 11k more than the X30, which I didn't get. It seems like MC really wants to move the X30, because the price gap was like 7k less last year.

Disclaimer- this is all based on MSRPs..... So actual cash difference was 22ish percent less. IIRC, X30 was $24,300 less in actual price. X25 was $16,000 cheaper than the X46.

wow. Interesting info there. I wouldn't have thought there would be such a big difference between models, and the 25 priced higher than the 30 doesn't make sense to me.

Me neither..... I know for 2013, the base MSRP was 5k less for the 30, and now it is 10k. They are selling a ton of them, though.

Fun fact for you- The X30, is cheaper than the new 23 LSV. First time I have ever seen a Malibu be more expensive than a directly competing MasterCraft.

@ Scott, we were surprised too..
Not sure why a big gap between X30-X25 , but the Gap between those 2 may afford options or not...
We decided to take the $7-8 k diff and get more options....
While we liked the spacious Pickle Bow, the looks and price of the X30 were the determining factor...
The X46 we also like....a lot . More of everything , but considerably more money $15-20k equally outfitted....

I should say, in the end, we decided to search for 2013 demos/used/ or rentals, to get the best value ( for us)
We took our time..
We found a nearly loaded 2013 X30 - 6.2L and negotiated to $74 k

We added a Custom Mastercraft Lo-profile Paint Matched OvER Galvenized Trailer with 18" XD wheels. 2 More tower speakers(4total), and a Flush kit installed for $6200.00

There are deals...if they match your needs/wants.

There was a hi hour 2014 X46 SS out there for $89k.... We did not like the color...
But a good deal for the right buyers needs

That's a good fact to know...as that boat was considered for Both SURF AND PRICE....
We liked the looks and finish of the MC X30 in the end...

Didn't know that about the 23 lsv either. If mc gets this surf system right;, I think we're gonna take a lot of business from malibu!
