Few random questions...

  • What appears to be the "silencer," sitting between the exhaust manifold and the muffler sprunk a leak. This is the 2nd time this has broken. The dealer said its a common problem and always has a few in stock. Is anyone familiar with this problem? Any solutions? I've heard someone applies more fiberglass to make it stronger. Also does anyone have recommendations to remove this thing from the hose? I can't believe how tight the hose is...

  • The chrome covers to my nav lights fell off, on both sides. The covers appear to be glued on which I think is incredibly cheap (I guess these aren't build by MC.) Has anyone faced this issue? Should I just glue it back on?

  • Is this garden hose connection for running the boat on land/out of the water- or is it only used for flushing the system? Do all boats has this?

Garden hose is for flushing engine....typically after salt water us.
You can get this OPTION with out SaltWater series Boats.
For the most part you don't see them much, but they are handy

Looking at your trailer , it appears you have a SS (SaltWater Series) boat?

The nav light covers can be glued back on.

To remove the hose use a hose removal tool http://www.walmart.com/ip/29937516?w...175196&veh=sem

those connections are good for flush IMO -- to run on trailer I recommend a bucket or bin... water from hose enough to keep water flowing thru jack... The heat will cause hose to stick muffler - a little anti-seize will keep it from sticking....

A little fiber glass matting and resin will fix up the muffler..

I don't have those silencers on my X-star but you could try using a heat gun or hair dryer on the hose to make it softer and easy to remove. You could also use a hose remover tool to slip under the hose (it looks like a rounded pick tool)

Thanks for the input everyone. I bought the boat (2009) used from a guy on lake Norman, NC (he bought the trailer aftermarket). He told me the boat wasn't SS...how can you determine definitively if it is? I found this post. The boat definitely doesn't have hydraulic steering nor is it marked SS anywhere I know about.

The bow light cover on my 09 came unglued and disappeared as well.

The navigation light cover came loose on my X-45. They are made by a thord party and are available from parts suppliers. I got a replacement from iBoats online.
