Winterizing 2002 Maristar 230 VRS
I decided to winterize my boat myself this year. Followed owners manual, but I'm a little confused on any needed winterization for the v-drive. The generic 1999-2003 Indmar manual references a couple of v-drives, but I'm not 100% sure which I have (not pictured), but I think it's the ZVHurth ZF63IV. I see the transmission fluid drain plug, but I don't see any "water" drain plug(s). Does anyone know if this model needs to be drained for winter storage? If so, where is the drain plug located? Short of removing the two water lines that come into the top, I'm not sure how to drain the water (if that is needed). Thanks.

Those aren't water lines. They carry transmission fluid to the tranny cooler and back, no water should be in the v-drive.

trans cooler may have a 10mm nut that can be removed to drain water... and +1 on what ricford says.

My 2001 X30 is same as your 2002 230. No need to do anything with the transmission itself. The two transmission fluid lines go to the transmission cooler, and the bottom water hose needs to be removed from the cooler as part of the winterization process.

after you remove the hose from the bottom of the trans cooler, stick your finger up there and make sure there isn't anything stuck to the intake filter. obviously, pull the plugs from the bottom of the block. make sure you stick something up in those holes as well as there is usually some junk that keeps the water from all coming out. if you have a heater or shower, make sure you blow those lines out to get all the water out.

I'm assuming this is for a dry winterization. I went the antifreeze route and didn't bother disconnecting those lines and blowing out. Once you run the af through the system, it gets through those lines, right?

Hopefully I'm good. This was my first time doing it myself. I ran it until af came out of the exhaust, so I'm feeling pretty confident.
