1997 Not Starting...Fuel Pump?

I've owned the boat for four years and never had a problem with her starting. This weekend while winterizing I warmed her up and changed the oil and tranny fluids. Went to warm her back up and no fire just cranking. Drained the battery and but it away. Just went out tonight to think though the process and I do not hear the pump spool up in the accessory mode on the key. Could my pump have gone out just that fast with out warning? Did I bump something while changing oil? Just seems strange, but I do not hear the pump now like I have in the past.

1997 Chevy 275hp EFI

Where is it located, how do I test it. Where do I find a replacement and how easy is it to change?

Just stating the obvious: Make sure the lanyard is in place.

Is everything else that comes with the [On] position working? Are the gauges powering up?

On the 97, the fuel pump is at the back of the engine, not in the tank if I'm not mistaken so it's easy to get to. Disconnect the wire from it and check with a voltmeter while someone else turns the key on. If you're getting 12 volts, then it's likely your pump. If not then start tracing that wire back. Could be the relay also.

Actually, if you're not getting 12 volts to the pump I would start with the lanyard safety switch. They have been known to go bad.

all gauges are powering up all systems seem normal...except I don't hear the pump spool up. Going to the garage now to check the 12v.

Yep, check for voltage at the pump plug now.

BAZINGA!

I must have knocked the 12v loose from the pump while disconnecting the raw water intake! You guys are my hero, just saved me $200. Thanks. Plugged it in and I hear it spool up!

Man I love you guys!
