Bearing buddy

How often should you pump additional grease into bearing buddies if using boat in salty water?

I think as long as the circular plate with the grease fitting is putting outward pressure on the spring you're OK. You can test this by pushing on one side of the plate and checking to see if it moves inward. I usually pump them up a little before any long trip.
