Replace teak w/fiberglass

Anyone else sick and tired of maintaining teak? Yes I love the look, but hate the constant maintenance. I'm ready to invest in a fiberglass platform and be done with it. Have a 1999 SportStar. Anyone done this? Where did you purchase/have fabricated and how much was it? All thoughts welcome!

I'm looking for a glass platform too. I have a 98 Prostar and been looking for a while but not real hard. Maybe something will pop up in this thread!

Dont do it!!! The teak platform looks much nicer IMO. If your not a maintenance guy, hit it with a preasure washer and use a paint brush for the teak oil. My buddy does this and his looks almost as nice as mine but I spend hours sanding.

I'll measure my teak and get some pics. I have a hunch it may not fit but what the heck....nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I've thought about doing the same thing... been talked out of it several times. Yes, maintenence is time consuming with the teak. But the vast majority of glass platforms I've seen look pretty rough. Everything shows on them.

the glass platforms I've seen on some of the newer M/C's and Nautiques look really good! Something I could live with/like and ditch the constant maintenance.

New glass looks good. Once the boards hit and mark them up, they are tough to keep looking good. JMO
