Smart by MC, must have changed in 06 to keep number of parts down. Our's was an 05.

It is NOT the same as my 2002 X9. The X9 seat is two pieces. The bottom has the pin and the kickstand, while the top rests on two hinges attached to the frame by the observer seats.
