EZ Slalom Set Up
I just bought an EZ Slalom Portable course. We set it by doing the entrance gates and boat guides first, pulled it straight, then added the turn buoy extensions. Pretty much reversed that procedure taking it down. 1 hour up, 45 minutes down. Any inputs in speeding the procedure along?

I've not been able to beat that time either. It just seems like when you are being careful not to take someone's head off, scratch the boat or screw up something else, it just takes that long. Also, it is not one of those "more the merrier" projects. 3 people is the most efficient way to go about it.

We tackled the job with 3 people also...and 2 golden retrievers. In a 190. Not a lot of room.

My friend just bought an E-Z slalom, we used it these past two weekends, setting up Friday night & breaking down Sunday eve. Our times are basically the same. Kuddos to anyone who can do it faster with pre gates and all. BTW, a very well engineered system. We set up Friday eve in a nice pocket for the forecasted winds Saturday morning. Pissed of some old fart so we had to move it after skiing in the AM. We went to one end, pulled up the anchor, and wrapped it in a PFD so it wouldn't drag. Then we went to the other end pulled that anchor, attached the rope to the pylon and away we went with the boat in gear. Moved the course about 1500' When we were done we just waited a bit and everything just settled in nice and straight. Think I'm gonna get one just to have in my arsenal of ski chit.

we do it with three people. me driving one guy on the swim platform handling the ropes and one in the boat handling the pipes I also have buoy duty we get it done in about a half hour in and twenty out takes about another ten to get it straight . a heads up we tried tensioning with the boat by hooking the rope to the stern eye and slowly pulling away ended up breaking a couple pipes so wont do that again. the first time we did it took well over an hour but like all things repetition makes it go faster

You guys must have a pretty coordinated effort. We have only done 1, so it should get better.

If you guys get really efficient (and do it several times a week) you can trim that to 45 up/30 down but not much further out of a ski boat. If you do it once a week or once every two weeks the 60up/45 down seems typical.
I also agree, 2 people can manage, 3 people is ideal, more than 3 just get in the way.

Where were you setting it up? Are one of the AZ lakes cool with courses?
