Winter Projects for 2013

Well I hate to admit but this weekend will be the last for me. Got travel plans the next few, and they are already dropping the water some. Edit*** Yes you can still Ski here till November but as I stated I have travel and football every weekend after this one... so save the jabs of saying I am weak, and cant handle the cooler rides.****

That said what is everyone's plans for the off season?

I am going to go Naked and lose the X Logo, Rework the sound system all the chanels with left and right are crossed up, and install another amp. Plus look into adding a heater, since I will have a mobile youngster next summer. Then my light tower, I am replacing the old Lights with newer brighter LED. Plus possible adding LED to the trailer, so the boat glows getting pulled down the road. I have saw alot of the new bass boat trailers are doing that, so it must be legal

Add addtional Port Side Ballast for Surfing

Boat now.

I am just going to save money for all the "accessories" I now need:

full wetsuits for both kids so the season can be extended (they already have shorties)
surfboard for me big enough for my lard butt
surfboard for my kids who are as light as feathers (<5 percentile for weight)
barefoot bar
slalom skis for both kids (too much difference in size to get one size fits all)
good quality slalom rope
adult water skis (can't currently get the old fogies up on the kid's skis)
sumo sac and pump for rear to improve wake for wake surfing
stainless steel box anchor
and maintainence - replace and move the front ballast pump which currently does not work.

I have a ton to do over the winter. This being my first year with my first boat I spent the summer getting things working mechanically well in between lake visits. So for the winter I have a will do list and a may do list...
Will do:
1.) Rub rail fix or replace
2.) Gel coat patches on bottom of boat
3.) Stargazer Wake install
4.) New gauges and gauge panels
5.) Install pull-up cleat in front of boat
6.) Relocate battery from under rear seat to under spotter seat
7.) Machine new vents for blower at rear of boat
8.) Remove old decals
9.) Rubbing compound/wake and install new decals
10.) Swim platform pad
11.) Add something under swim platform to tie down rear of boat on trailer

May do:
1.) New steering wheel
2.) Clean/repaint various engine pieces
3.) New insulation in engine cover
4.) Rewire stereo/new stereo (nothing fancy)
5.) Replace trailer beds
6.) Rewire trailer lights
7.) Get surge brakes on trailer to work
8.) Wet sand, buff, and wax trailer fenders.

In all reality I will be lucky to get the will do list done

So many things to do, so little money:
  • PP Stargazer with Z-Box
  • OJ 13x11.5 CNC Prop (make current 13x13 the backup)
  • Heater (Maybe)
  • Get hole cut in Bimini for Fly High
  • Repair trailer fender...probably professionally $$$
  • Find a new ski (hopefully Radar Senate/C)
  • New Trailer Tires (and wheels maybe)
  • New Stereo, Remote and Speakers
  • Dual Battery Setup
  • Find money to pay for 3 days at Coble in the spring

And keep losing weight!

Don't get discouraged by the size of your list. A lot of us have started with as large, or a larger list. I broke mine down the same way and I still have a lot to do as the list continues to grow faster than I check things off.
