Does your X2 5.7 Ilmore drink gas?

My 2013 X2 has the 5.7 Ilmor with factory OJ 522 prop. We don't run any extra ballast. My crew is a family of 3. This puppy drinks gas. We can go out for the afternoon and do some skiing (50%), a little kneeboarding (30%), some wakeboarding (20%) - next thing you know I have used between 1/4 and half a tank of gas. I previously owned 2011 Malibu vlx with monsoon and 2012 malibu lsv with monsoon 350. both of those boats had acme 1235 prop (which is higher rpm prop than OJ 522). They didn't drink as much as gas as the Ilmor seems to drink.

I have not done any official GPH calculations (not really sure I know how without a proper flow meter).

I have a 2010 X2 with the 5.7 and it drinks gas. I average about $60-$70 a day unless I use the marina gas and its about $80-$100 per day. Seems high for no more than we use it. I may keep up with mine next year on hour usage versus gas usage just to see.

Bama - how many hours do you have on your engine? I have the 6.0 and initially it drank gas, but as the hours rack up it is doing much better on gas. My dealer told me that this would happen, I'm at 60 hours so far.

I have the 6.0 and have noticed exactly what Mastercraft13 said, I am at 88 hours and it's gotten better over time. I have been keeping track from the very beginning and I am averaging 19.8L/hour or 5.23 US-GPH. This is usually running with 2500+ of ballast either wakeboarding or surfing.

I have around 20 hours on it now. I really hope it improves as it gets more hours on it. With the smaller fuel tank, it means I hae to keep a closer eye on fuel.

I have a 2012 X2 with the 5.7...I've seen the fuel burn to get better as I've put more hours on it. It sure seemed to burn through a ton up to about 20hours on the motor. Still not great, but I have really enjoyed this boat! A lot of fun to drive!!!

For running 2500+ of ballast 5.23GPH sounds very good to me.
I can exceed 5 GPH easily on my 02 star with around 2k of ballast.

$60 to $70 a day isn't out of hand at all for an X 2 with a 5.7.
