Check engine 08 X-14

Hi everyone. I've got an 08 X-14 with the big Vortec. When starting it up in the water after sitting for a couple of weeks, the engine kind of sputtered and the rpms dropped and rose several times over about a 30 second period. It then ran perfect for the rest of the day. After a great day of surfing around the lake I decided to give it a good boot to burn some gas that I didn't want to tow home. After about ten minutes of going pretty good, the check engine light came on. I cleared it and there didn;t seem to be any issues at all. Took a peak at the engine, no noises, nothing burning. Engine temp was good, voltage was fine. Any thoughts on either? I've read a few things about adding fuel stabilizer tot he tank if it will be sitting for a bit and I'm wondering if this had something to do with starting it up.

You say you cleared the check engine light? How did you clear it?
