Need help 2008 x45 LY6 getting hot

A friend of mine recently purchased an 08' x45 and it has the LY6 engine. The motor got hot last weekend and he had to get towed in. I checked the tranny cooler and replaced the impeller today then hooked it up to the hose. It still got warm but very gradually. I'm thinking it must be the thermostat? Does anyone have images of where the thermostat is on the 6.0 liter? Any tips, images, or advice will be greatly appreciated!

Is it open or closed cooled and does the alarm go off? Also what is the engine serial number?

Serial 145674. It is open, not closed cooled.

By the way, I found the t-stat. Got another one ordered today. Hopefully that will solve the issue.

Okay that doesn't fit with an issue that I know about. As requested does the alarm go off as these engines can creep to 205 after a high load run once they return back to idle. If the alarm comes on then you will def have an issue.

Also you need to check the bolt that attaches the bracket to the RAW pump for a lock washer, if one exists take it into a dealer and get them to follow instructions in SV2009-9 (this causes another issue).

Yes, the alarm went off when it initially got hot. After replacing the impeller I started it in his driveway and when the temp got up to about 210 I shut it down. The alarm did not go off this time. Could be because it was on a hose, but I'm going to replace the T-Stat just to be safe. Do you have an image of the lock washer you are talking about? I will say, the raw water pump moved back and forth with little effort.
